Youghal 18 - Dungarvan 1
Unfortunately the match was as one sided as the scoreline suggests,it was just one of those days where everything went right for Youghal and wrong for Dungarvan. In the rucks and mauls we were able to secure our own ball and managed lots of turnover ball, which allowed plenty space for our runners to take full advantage of. Having a large squad to use meant that the players were kept fresh with rolling substitutions. Hopefully the result reflects all the efforts the players have put into training, rather than a one off, we will find out at the next match.

Youghal U8’s V’s Sundays Well
9th February 2013
On a beautiful Spring morning, the U’8’s travelled up to Cork to take on the Well and Ballincollig on the back pitch in Musgrave Park. The team that travelled were Mark O’Neill, Jack Finn, Kyle Fitzgerald, PJ Morgan, Euan McCaughey, Daire O’Flynn, Jamie Lee, Cian Leahy, Henry Ruddy and Finn O’Brien.
First up were the Well, where Youghal played some lovely rugby. The passing was excellent and its great to see the lads enjoying themselves and improving all the time. Some super passing by Daire O’Flynn, Jamie Lee and Cian Leahy resulted in a couple of great tries for Youghal. Some great tackles were also made by Henry Ruddy and Finn O’Brien to prevent the Well from scoring. All the lads played really well in what turned out to be a very enjoyable game.
Next up were Ballincollig. This was a more bruising encounter than the previous game but equally as enjoyable. After a shaky start by Youghal leaving in a couple of soft tries, the lads soon found their rhythm and scored a couple of crackers of their own. Some great work in the middle of the pitch from Euan McCaughey and Kyle Fitzgerald sent Jack Finn and Mark O’Neill over for a well worked try. Then it was the turn of birthday boy PJ Morgan to get in on the act to round off a great day. Well done to all and thanks to the Well who put on a great spread afterwards for the hungry troops.
Youghal U11`s 9 - Douglas 4
Team: Ryan Farqhar, Conor Kenefick, Danny Dorrian, Darragh Coleman, Ole Coleman, James O`Shea, AJ Brophy, Conor O`Neill, Aron Gardiner, Aron Creamer, Oran Finn and Tomas Power
Youghal got off to a flying start thanks to some fine passing and well supported running and by the end of the first period had raced to a 4-0 lead. However Douglas organised themselves much better at the start of the second period and managed to get a more even share of the ball aided by some complacent work by Youghal at the ruck and mauls, and pulled the score back to 6-3 by the end of the second period. In the final period Youghal got back to doing the basics correctly and comfortably ran out 9-4 winners.
Try scorers: Conor Kenefick 2, AJ Brophy 2, Aron Creamer 2, Tomas Power, Conor O`Neill and Oran Finn.
