The Munster Junior Shield Final is to be played this afternoon, Saturday 13th of April between Mallow and Youghal at the neutral venue of Fermoy RFC. Mallow, having already nailed down their Division 1 spot for next season will be seeking to add some silverware and will be up for this tussle, but when these two sides met a few weeks ago in the league it was a very close affair. Today's game should be equally tense. All support would be welcome. Kick off is at 4 PM.

Youghal U11`s 4 - Crosshaven 7
Team: Ben Terry, Danny Dorrian, Araon Creamer, Rory O`Brien, Conor O`Neill, AJ Brophy, Conor Roche and Darragh Coleman
Ironically the tactics used in our last out against Fermoy were used against us in this match, Carrigaline had one very big and powerful player that literally bulldozed his way through our defence whenever he received the ball, there was nothing wrong with the commitment,just that they went too high tackling such a big opponent. Crosshaven raced out to a 3-0 lead before they substituted their main player, without his threat we managed to get a share of the ball and played some fine running rugby.It became a much closer contest and the teams exchanged tries, however our lack of numbers meant no substitutions and players started to tire and when Crosshaven reintroduced the "big man" the game ended as a contest.
